چکیده

In the last decade, face analysis, e.g. face recognition, face detection, face tracking, facial expression recognition, is a very lively and expanding research field. As computer animated agents and robots bring a social dimension to human computer interaction, interest in this research field is increasing rapidly. In this paper, we introduce an artificial emotion mimic system which can recognize human facial expressions and also imitate the recognized facial expression. And also we propose a classifier that is based on weak classifiers obtained by using modified rectangular features to recognize human facial expression in real-time. Next, we introduce our robot that is manipulated by a distributed control algorithm. Finally, experimental results of facial expression recognition and emotion expression are shown for the validity of our artificial emotion imitator. The Correspondence Problem

The identification of any form of social learning, imitation, copying or mimicry presupposes a notion of correspondence between two autonomous agents. Judging whether a behavior has been transmitted socially requires the observer to identify a mapping between the demonstrator and the imitator. If the demonstrator and imitator have similar bodies, e.g. are animals of the same species, of similar...

An Emotion Recognition Approach based on Wavelet Transform and Second-Order Difference Plot of ECG

Emotion, as a psychophysiological state, plays an important role in human communications and daily life. Emotion studies related to the physiological signals are recently the subject of many researches. In This study a hybrid feature based approach was proposed to examine affective states. To this effect, Electrocardiogram (ECG) signals of 47 students were recorded using pictorial emotion elici...

Advergence in Müllerian mimicry: the case of the poison dart frogs of Northern Peru revisited.

Whether the evolution of similar aposematic signals in different unpalatable species (i.e. Müllerian mimicry) is because of phenotypic convergence or advergence continues to puzzle scientists. The poison dart frog Ranitomeya imitator provides a rare example in support of the hypothesis of advergence: this species was believed to mimic numerous distinct model species because of high phenotypic v...

Robot Imitation Learning of High-Level Planning Information

We present a system that enables a robot to learn to plan through demonstration and imitation. An imitator acquires planning operators by observing a demonstrator, segmenting the demonstrators actions into planning steps, and learning the preconditions and effects of the operators. When the imitator tries to execute its own plans, it learns to perform the operations through reinforcement learni...

Étienne André Everything You Always Wanted to Know About IMITATOR (But Were Afraid to Ask)

We present here the user manual of Imitator, a tool for synthesizing constraints on timing bounds (seen as parameters) in the framework of timed automata. Unlike classical synthesis methods, the tool Imitator takes advantage of a given reference valuation of the parameters for which the system is known to behave properly. The goal of Imitator is to generate a constraint such that, under any val...
